Tawn Marie began dance training at age 6.  Since then she has studied tap, ballet, jazz, & lyrical dance with many wonderful teachers. 

 After dreaming for many years of opening her own studio, TMDC was opened in 1996 with 86 students.  Since then, TMDC has taught thousands of students from the central New York area.  Tawn Marie's students have won titles in, Starpower, dance elite, sophisticated, dance Xplosion, IDC, stars of tomorrow and NDS to name a few.  Tawn has won over 200 choreography awards and teachers’ excellence awards.  In 2002 the studio won the best studio award and the national broadway cup at the access broadway nationals.  In 2005 they won the national diamond award at the us tournament of dance, and in 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2007 they won grand champion at the New York State talent showcase.  Additionally, in 2003, Tawn was awarded the woman of achievement award by channel 5, and also, the studio was named one of the top 50 studios in the us by dance teacher magazine!

 The studio is active in the community and has performed for the Syracuse symphony and girls inc, and has raised money for charities such as mda, make a wish the spca and hospice.  After being asked by Syracuse Mayor Matt Driscoll, TMDC performs "A Christmas Fantasy'" for the city of Syracuse for the tree lighting ceremony each year.  They also have performed at Disney world in 2002, 2004 and 2006.

 Currently, tawn is a dance adjudicator for national dance competitions and recently choreographed for a national dance team.  Tawn is certified to teach dance by Dance Masters of America and professional dance teachers of America.  She also expanded the studio in the Syracuse area to include TMDC2 in Baldwinsville.
